Ch12, Slip stitch into 2nd chain from hook and next 3 chains.

Dc (Sc) in next chain, HTr (HDc) in next, Tr (Dc) in next chain.

 DTr (Tr) in next 2 chains, Tr (Dc) in next, HTr (HDc in next.

Chain 3, slip stitch into 1st chain made.

Working along the other side of the chain,  you will repeat steps 2 & 3 in reverse. 

HTr (HDc) in same place as the chain 3, Tr (Dc) into the next chain.

Tr (Dc) in next chain, HTr (HDc) in next, Dc (Sc) in next. Slip stitch into the next chain and fasten off. Weave in ends.

Pick me flower

In colour 1. Chain 4 and slip stitch into 1st chain to create a ring.

Chain 1. Working into the center of the ring, work 15 HTr (HDc). Slip Stitch into the top of the 1st HTr (HDc) made to join the round.

Change to colour 2. Chain 2. Working into the same stitch under the chain, HTr (HDc), Tr (Dc).

Chain 3, slip stitch into 1st chain made.

Letter tiles

Make 3 of the following:

Chain 13, Dc (Sc) in 2nd chain from hook and in each chain along. Turn. (12)

Chain 1, Dc (Sc) into each stitch along. Turn. (12) 

Repeat Row 1, 5 times for a total of 6 rows. At the end of Row 6, do not cut yarn. Place a stitch marker in the last stitch made while you surface crochet the letter detail.

To make the letter 'M':

Insert hook 1 row in from the starting slip knot. Attach black yarn to hook with a slip knot.

Bring black yarn through stitch. Sl St across next 5 stitches.

Sl St into stitch 1 row across and 1 row down, twice.

Mirror where you have placed the slip stitches to create the other side of the letter M.

Fasten off black yarn and bring the tail to the rear of the project.

Insert hook in 5th row from starting slip knot. Attach black yarn to hook with a slip knot.

Fasten off black yarn and bring the tail to the rear of the project.

Putting it all together

Remove stitch marker and insert hook into stitch.

Round 1: Ch1. Insert hook through both sides of the project and join using a slip stitch.

Repeat this into each stitch, across each side of the square until all sides are joined.

Weave in any remaining ends.
