Fado

Fado, a soulfoul music genre from Portugal, is unique. Personally, I especially like the instrumental accompaniement of the songs. A Portuguese guitar has twice as many strings as the common guitar, contributing to the wonderfully graceful flow of different melodies, with sounds glistening like water droplets in the sun.I incorporate the first few notes of the famous song “Coimbra é uma liçao” as well as a stylised depiction of the Portuguese guitar into my project. I am knitting both designs using a slightly shimmering yarn with some metallic part and in warm wood brown and gold-beige.
