Flos Ambulare (flower walk) Shawl The shawl is intended as a metaphorical and physical walk through the garden, paying homage to the plant dyed yarn produced by Lana Plantae. Each of the unique slipped + mosaic stitch patterns is knitted together to create a flower inspired shawl. But, make no mistake, this shawl is all about the yarn… and the experience of knitting with plant dyed yarn {a real privilege}. Construction + Pattern Overview This oversized, triangular shawl is worked in one piece from the tip (cast on) to the wide triangular bottom (at bind off). Throughout the knitting, Icord is worked at the beginning and end of each row to create smooth edging and then bound off (in Icord) at the end. The knitting is organized into sections--marked by different slipped st + mosaic st sections-- each section flows directly into the next. Lastly, increases only occur on one side of the shawl, creating an asymmetrical triangular shawl shape.
