Construction Method and Techniques

Ikemura is knit seamlessly using a top-down construction method with raglan sleeves, a technique that minimizes finishing work and creates clean, professional results. The pattern employs a hybrid flat and circular knitting approach: the upper yoke is knit flat to allow for precise shaping and colourblocking placement, then the stitches are joined to transition to working in the round for the lower body and sleeves. This method reduces seaming and provides excellent fit control, particularly in the shoulder area where the raglan shaping occurs.

This yarn yields 144 yards per 1.75 ounces (50g skein) and is worked on appropriate needles for the chosen yarn weight. The colourblocking shown features Oceanic Mix and Turquoise Mix colorways, demonstrating how the two-tone design creates visual interest and modern appeal.

The Ikemura is available in a comprehensive range of sizes, with finished bust measurements spanning from 31" to 55" (approximately 79cm to 140cm), accommodating diverse body sizes. The pattern includes 12 distinct size options: 31", 33", 35.25", 37.5", 39", 41", 43.25", 45.5", 47", 49", 51.25", and 55". The sample shown measures 35.25" (88cm) and is knit with approximately one inch of negative ease, demonstrating the intended fit philosophy.
