This adorable garment is fun to knit with a clever diagonal construction.
The inspiration for this design came from a picture of a rainbow-coloured jumper drawn by my seven-year-old daughter. It got me thinking about how to introduce stripes in a more interesting way than simply horizontally or vertically. Garter stitch is ideal for babies and toddlers because there are no holes for fingers to explore and the bouncy, stretchy fabric moulds well to moving and growing bodies.
Please note that this design uses only small amounts of the contrast colours, so you might be able to use any leftovers you have of the same, or similar yarn.
