Produktdetails
Mimizan is sized to fit a full range of sizes from newborn to adult male. Detailed yarn requirements are given for each size in both meters and yards so you can easily knit a couple or several hats depending on sizes chosen from the 2 skeins of Malabrigo given. It is knitted in the round beginning with the ribbed band, working through the main body to the crown decreases. It's ideal for strong contrast, but also complementary colours. This hat was inspired by the large cones of the maritime pine trees of the forests around Mimizan in the Aquitaine region of France. I brought one of these cones home with me as a reminder of a wonderful visit, and was amazed to discover that years after it fell from the tree it will still close when it gets wet and reopen when it dries out.
