Product Description
Transcendence is worked in the mosaic crochet style, inspired by Tinna Thórudóttir Thorvaldsdóttir’s beautiful Havana Afghan.
This is an intermediate level pattern in US terms with written directions for each row and a chart for the pattern repeat. Requires chain, slip stitch, single crochet, and double crochet stitches.
Each row is worked in only one color of yarn. Yarn is cut at the end of each row and work is not turned after each row.
A double border in double crochet stitches worked from both the front and back sides of the blanket encases the yarn tails at the start and end of each row. Transcendence uses two yarns, Yarn A and Yarn B.
Yarn A creates the raised diamond texture. Yarn B is the background yarn.
For a baby blanket in dk weight yarn: 25 inches (64 cm) square You will need about 470 yards (430 m) of Yarn A. You will need about 208 yards (190 m) of Yarn B.
