The hat can be knitted in one or two colours, it uses a funny tuft stitch and is quite quick and easy to knit once you get the rhythm.
There is a little eyelet detail round the bottom (optional), the pattern is easy to memorise and the way the hat decreases to close is simple yet very effective.
The pattern is written for three sizes, Small, Medium and Large. The hat can be worked in two style options, beanie or slouch with either folded or simple ribbed brim.
Size can also be adjusted by going up or down a needle size, or by changing the yarn weight and adjusting the needles accordingly.
Obtaining gauge is important, if necessary you should go up a needle size (or two) to get it.
Level: Adventurous beginner or intermediate. The hat is knit in the round. The pattern uses long-tail cast on, eyelets (optional) and tuft pattern. Stranded knitting if you choose two-colour option.
Yarn suggested: any DK weight yarn that meets the gauge. For one-colour option 50 -
