Long Leggity Beastie

My nephew inherited his daddy’s build - long and lean. Because of this, it is hard to find pants for him that are the right length and fit at the waist.

I’d seen patterns for knitted leggings, and knowing I would finish those faster than sewing some, decided to go for it. And then I discovered that most of the leggings patterns were for worsted weight. Since children are known to be rather messy, I thought sock yarn would be a better option. It’s washable, durable, comes in a great many colors, and there’s a good possibility that I have some….

The pattern as written does not include feet, but you are welcome to add them or to make the legs even longer.

SizingThe ribbing enables the leggings to be worn by a larger variety of sizes. The only variation is in the amount of ease. Use the circumference of the tummy to determine size. The small is about 11 inches unstretched and the large is about 13 inches unstretched. The waist and legs can be worked to whatever length is necessary.
