This shawl is inspired by a graffiti writing near my house, with its unusual pink color. The detail that caught my eye is the semicircle showing on the top-right corner with the play of small circles of color around it, making it looks like a shawl on the graffiti “shoulders”. The Pink Arch is worked in stripes using three different colors and alternating stockinette and garter stitch with some brioche inserts for a textural effect. The Pink Arch has a half-Pi shawl construction, doubling the number of stitches when the number of rows doubles. Half Pi shawl are worked from the center out. Every time the number of rows doubles, the pattern doubles the number of stitches, by working (yo, k1) across the row. It’s a really easy and fun construction to work and to design.

The pattern involves brioche knitting and in quite a complicated way which has been a challenge as I've never done it before. Had to supplement pattern with youtube videos which helped enormously. There was one small error in the patternrelating to the number of stitches but it was so clearly wrong that it didn't cause me any problem. Haven't yet finished but I can already see it's going to be lovely - well worth the challenge!
