LoveCrafts Acquired and Joins Missouri Star Quilt Family
Published on 10 October 2024 3 min readFollowing a competitive process with interest from several strategic and financial investors, LoveCrafts Group has been acquired by Creative Fiber Holdings Inc. (Creative Fiber), in common ownership with Missouri Star Quilt Company (MSQC).
Founded in 2008 by Jenny Doan and her family in Hamilton, Missouri, the Missouri Star Quilt Company has grown from a small quilting shop into one of the world’s largest quilting suppliers. Renowned for its strong online presence, particularly Jenny's widely followed YouTube quilting tutorials, the company offers an extensive selection of fabrics, pre-cut bundles, and quilting supplies. In addition to its online success, Missouri Star operates several city blocks of themed fabric stores in Hamilton, which has transformed the town into a must-visit destination for quilters. Dedicated to inspiring and empowering both beginners and experienced quilters, the company fosters and serves the growing global quilting community.
LoveCrafts was founded in 2012 with a clear mission: to create a vibrant online home for makers. Starting life as LoveKnitting, the site provided a comprehensive destination for knitting supplies, alongside a platform for designers to share their patterns and a community space for crafting enthusiasts. In 2015, the company launched LoveCrochet, catering specifically to crochet enthusiasts. In 2019, both platforms were combined under the LoveCrafts brand, providing a single home for a wider range of crafts. The company saw rapid growth during the COVID-19 pandemic, driven by a global surge in crafting activities during lockdowns. In 2021, LoveCrafts acquired US competitor WEBS, America’s Yarn Store, and its parent company, Valley Fibers, significantly boosting its presence and market share in the U.S. crafting industry.
The acquisition will allow MSQC to expand its presence in the global crafting industry, whilst delivering a vibrant future for the LoveCrafts brand, team and its partners and suppliers.

Jeff Martin, CEO of Creative Fiber Holdings Inc added “This acquisition aligns perfectly with our mission to inspire and support crafters worldwide. At Missouri Star, we've always believed in the power of creativity to bring people together. With LoveCrafts joining us, we're not just expanding our product line—we're bringing together two passionate communities of makers. This union will allow us to serve makers in ways we've only dreamed of before. It's an exciting new chapter in our mission to inspire and empower everyone to create."
The acquisition was completed at the beginning of October. Both companies assure customers that there will be no expected changes to operations, and all existing services will continue uninterrupted.
