Video guidelines for LoveCrafts Creators
Published on 20 November 2020 4 min readYou’re creating a video for LoveCrafts, that’s awesome! Here’s everything you need to know.

Video shoot format
YouTube videos: Shoot in landscape mode
Instagram feed videos: Shoot in landscape mode but keep action in centre
IGTV videos: Shoot in portrait mode
Resolution: 1080p (Full HD) or 4K (if available on your device).
YouTube - the essentials
Yay! You’re creating a YouTube video, here’s what you have to know:
The set-up
- Shoot in landscape mode in the highest resolution you can
- Use a plain working surface, bright-coloured paper works best
- Shoot in a bright and well-lit space
- You’ll need to explain and talk through the process as you go along
- Make sure there's no background noise or distractions in the video.
The assets
- Shoot an Intro: Introducing yourself and explaining why people should try this technique or project. Ideally, you’ll shoot this section separately, talking to the camera.
- Shoot an Outro: This is where you wrap up the project and thank everyone for watching (in your own style!)
- You’ll need good landscape photos of the finished project (plain or styled).
- We'll need step-by-step written instructions, including products used (please confirm this with the LoveCrafts team beforehand).
- If you’re creating a new pattern for the video, we would need the pattern design as a PDF so we can link it in the video and blog post - or you’ll upload it to your designer account.
- Please make sure you send all your files in a folder with clear subfolders for video/images/other files. Number and title your videos, so we can easily see what’s what!

- Shoot final/beauty shots of the finished project. That's a few 10-15 seconds shots showing the finished project on video. If it’s a wearable, we encourage you to shoot the beauty shots modeled/styled.
- Please make sure you send all your files in a folder with clear subfolders for video/images/other files. Number and title your videos, so we can easily see what’s what!
