I used West Yorkshire Spinners Re:Treat yarn which is a chunky roving yarn but it will work with any chunky yarn.
The pattern gives you yarn quantities, measurements, starting chain and number of rows for 12 different sizes of blanket from lovey through to king size.
The pattern contains video tutorial for the stitch used in the blanket so you can get started straight away.
