    About

I’m making 3 vest tops to coordinate for my daughter and her 2 boys. I saw a lovely tank in John Lewis and thought I could knit my own version. I still struggle with Intarsia to get my stitches even. I’ve done a closeup to show you what I mean. I’ve just about finished the baby’s. Can’t decide whether to do mums as an Argyll or leave plain. I might cheat and Swiss darn the Argyll pattern. Watch this space…
There were about a million ends to darn in too!😱

Thank you - that photo was to show the millions of ends to darn in! My least favourite job! Definitely a labour of love.

I think this wee vest is gorgeous, I love the colour combinations and how cool are the diamonds. I agree with the other ladies we are all so critical of our own work. I am going to watch the video too as I would love some hints too, look forward to seeing the other vests.😊😊💕

I’ve watched the video and made a start on my daughter’s. It has about 8 or 9 diamonds across one row - it’s slow going! I’ve still got some loose stitches but not really knitted enough yet to know if it’s going to be wearable when it’s finished. Great thing. knitting for little ones - they’re not so critical!

Looks lovely, great colour combination. I know what you mean about the stitches, I had the same problem with a project and I found a YouTube video that helped, hope this link works https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7LuAvY0qbmg but I agree with Alison, sometimes we are too critical of our own work. I’m sure they will be much appreciated by your daughter.

It’s beautiful, I love the colours and the style of this vest top. I think you should be proud of your knitting, it’s made with love and too often I think we can be over critical of our own work. Your grandson is going to love this top because his grandma knitted it especially for him. 😊
