I made this for my grandson a couple of years ago and it was so liked by many people that I just had to make another as a gift for a baby girl due when the weather cools down. Soft pure merino in cream with raspberry trim will keep her cosy.
Notes: This is meant to be a very close fit according to the designer. I wanted it to be a bit looser so chose 3-6m as it's what I would consider to be 0-3m in fit when it's worn a little looser.
I love the coloured edging you have added to the pattern. How did you do it? I have had this pattern in 'My Cart' for sometime as I just love the design of it.
Hi Denise ...The edging is so simple. Cast on with the edging colour for the neck, cut yarn and then start knitting with the main colour. When you get to the bottom of the body and sleeves k 1 row on the RS with the contrast and then cast off on the WS with it. For the fronts pick up and k a st in the contrast at the bottom, in every g st lump up the front and in the contrast at the top. Cast off on the WS. You may need to stretch the front bands a little when you block it to get them to lie nice and flat. Simple :-)
@Pat E: I have just finished this pattern using your excellent instructions for the edging. Will definitely knit an edging like this again, really finishes it off.
