    About

This is my THIRD Carrie's Wrap! This one is knitted up in Aran weight yarn on a size 9 needle. Since this is my third Carrie's Wrap, I experimented with the shawl collar a little. Instead of picking up and knitting 2x2 rib as written in the pattern. I knitted the shawl collar vertically with increases on the seamed side to mimic the short row shaping in the original pattern. The shawl collar was knitted in 2 pieces (with short rows also at the back of the neck so that the collar falls properly in the fronts). The the collar was seamed to the fronts and seamed at the back of the neck. I thought this was a very nice variation to the original. I highly HIGHLY recommend Carrie's Wrap from Sally Melville's book (see link). The pattern can be adapted to different weight yarn and still work beautifully. This cardi was worth the price of the whole book!
