    About

I have had my eye on this pattern for quite some while, so when my nephew announced that there was a brother coming for Arthur & Cora in July, I leapt on the chance to make it. It was great fun, and I learned some new techniques from it, which is always a nice bonus. It’s a very clever pattern

    Needles & Hooks

    • Crochet Hook 6.00mm (US 10)
    • Crochet Hook 6.50mm (US 10.5)
    • Crochet Hook 3.00mm (US 2.5)

    Accessories

    • Stitch Markers
    • Stuffing
    • Tapestry Needle

    Measurements

    30’’ width x 38’’ length

Notes: I crocheted two circles with scraps of dk yarn for the eyes rather than embroider them. I left off the eyebrows because elephants don’t have eyebrows and I didn’t like the surprised look that comes with them. I also didn’t sew wrinkles on the trunk as I thought little fingers might get caught in them. I crocheted ties for holding the blanket together rather than using ribbon

Oh how cute is this lovely blanket Karen I love the way it is a wee elephant and then becomes a lovely soft blanket. What a fantastic gift for your nephew.😊😊💕

Thanks Michelle. I’m pleased with how it has turned out. I think the parents will like it even if the baby doesn’t!

Thanks Dianne. I think it’s a great idea. Might be a bit cumbersome for a child to play with but will be great for cuddling!
