Please can you tell me if you used the same size needles if you used double knit and also was there a variation in quantity of wool ? Thank you

Hello Jean, I used double knitting wool and size 4mm needles. To be honest I knit a little bit loose anyway so I don’t think there is much different in size. This was a stash buster so my quantities of wool are vague. If the pattern said green then I would use various shades of that colour to try to keep continuity. It was very much go with whatever I had at the time.I hope this helps. Whatever you use will be lovely I’m sure .

Amazing work! Wish I could say I was just half that productive during Coronavirus' lockdown!

Wow this is stunning, the border finishes it off perfectly. How did you cope with all the ends to sew in.?😊

Thank you. Yes it did take quite a while to sew in but I did it as I was going along.

Thank you, I found it very therapeutic sewing the ends in, sometimes watching the television.Often sitting in the garden in the sunshine.

@Sue W: I am so tempted to make this rug, I was worried about all the sewing the ends in and also picking up the stitches. Also Sue I don't have alot of aran wool would it be alot smaller if I used dk.?😊

@Michelle M: Please have a go at knitting this .It took me 18 months off and on to knit but I have three younger grandchildren so had to knit cardigans and many dolls clothes in between .I found it easier sometimes to knit the strip in one go .Sew the ends in and then pick up the stitches for the sides and roof after. When you pick the sides up use a Crochet hook this makes it a lot easier.I only used Double Knitting wool so it is still a good size ,also it is easy to extend if you want but make sure there are the same amount of houses up and along to complete the square.i.e. 9 x9 or 11 x 11 ect .Good look I hope you enjoy it

Amazing , You must have a lot of balls of wool across a row, and a lot of ends to sew in.

Thank you, you can knit either a long strip and attach the roofs or make individual squares and sew them up as you go along.
