    About

The West Yorks Spinners sock wool is a firm favourite of mine. So when I discovered the new Croft Yarn had to try it out. 100% Wool from the Sletland Isles. It lives up to its name and is lovely wool to knit with. As I hate sewing up and its not my best feature, I knitted the front and back up to the arm pits on a circular, and the sleeves in the round on DPN's. Worked out very well, leaving only the raglans to sew up. Also did the neck on shorter circular. Not sure why I seem to have a lot of wool left over as ordered the amount stated in the pattern, and worked to correct tension. Treated myself to a set of Addi Lace Circulars, love them, they very smooth and light to knit with, stitches flow easily along the narrow cable with no catching. Favourite choice for DPNs', as always Bamboo. Very quick knit, clear simple and easy to follow pattern. Now wondering what I can find to knit next in the croft yarn.

Thank you Vix, 😊. It’s lovely wool, pleasure to knit with. Didn’t have the right size needles in a circular and I know Addi are Lynn’s preferred ones for socks. So thought I would treat myself to pair. Can definitely recommend them, the wool just glides along. Afraid I’ve been spoilt now with my WYS. Croft and Addi lace needles. 🧶

Looks lovely on Peter, another quick knit for you Jean. I love the Croft yarn too, I think all the WYS yarns are fantastic. I also use Addi lace circular needles in preference to all my others, using them even when knitting flat pieces. You’ll have to knit Peter a matching hat with the leftover yarn.

Thank you Lynn, yes it’s lovely yarn. Didn’t have the right size in a circular and I know the Addi are your preferred ones for the socks. So decided to treat my self to a pair. Completely sold love these needles 😊. Yes maybe a hat, although he does have about four already. But if I see the right pattern 😂
