My favourite yarns are Paintbox Yarns Cotton Aran, for Afghan squares and thicker texture projects, and Rico Essentials Cotton DK for finer items. The very nicest and softest cotton I've come across is Cascade Ultra Pima Fine - it is perfect for baby wear and toddler wear.
I really enjoy making squares, as they come in handy for so many things, and are a way for me to try out new ideas.
While originally I was a knitter, since learning crochet that's what I do.
