Abhainn (‘Ow-inn’) is the Irish word for river. Semi circular bands of eyelet rows separate the rivers of lace that cascade down to the edge in this simple but striking design.
Choose Abhainn Beag for a stylish shawlette or Abhainn Mór for a bigger shawl that wraps a little bit further. The simple repeats of this design knit up quickly in either size. Either way you are likely to come back for more.
This top-down shawlette/shawl is knit downwards from a garter tab cast on. Increases are worked using yarnovers hidden in the eyelet bands and no short rows are required.
Abhainn has been professionally tech-edited and both written and charted instructions are provided.
