Product Details
Bottom-up shawl with a lace border and a garter stitch short row body.
With this shawl, I wanted to pay tribute to all the mountains, sheep, and wild nature surrounding us that allow us to enjoy our craft.
Alpage (masculine noun): high mountain pasture where cattle and sheep spend their summer months enjoying the abundant and fresh grass.
The Alpages shawl is worked from the bottom up. Its lace border is knitted without shaping for ease of work. Once it’s done, you’ll be able to relax and enjoy some garter stitch pasture, allowing your mind to wander as free as a sheep in its alpage.
Skills: (bolded skills are detailed in the pattern): Lace knitting: basic increases, decreases, yarn overs, and nupps; Simple short rows; Knitted Cast-On.
Yardage: 700-730 m / 765-798 yds of fingering weight yarn, equally split between the border and body of the shawl.
Sample Yarns: Dream in Color Jilly, col. Get Down Greeny (100% Merino - 402 m / 440 yds & 113 g per skein)
