Product Details
This is an easy lace project worked in one piece from the top down.
The shawl is designed to use one (100 gram) skein of fingering weight yarn, approximately 320 to 400 m. The bottom border may be knit as narrow or as deep as your yarn quantity allows.
The pattern includes both charts and written instructions.
Of course you could alter the size by working it in a slightly heavier yarn and a larger needle. (Yarn requirements will vary.) Gold sample shown, blocked: 62" X 28", using approximately 400m. Black sample shown, blocked: 52" X 23", using approximately 320 m. Gauge: 20 sts to 4" over stocking stitch, unblocked. Any fingering weight wool or wool blend would work well with this pattern. The name was inspired by the novel of the same name by D E Stevenson.
