Product Details
This delicate lace scarf is inspired by the one worn by Amy Pond in the Doctor Who episodes ‘Vampires of Venice’ and ‘Vincent and the Doctor’.
The stitch pattern is antique, and is variously known as Frost Flowers, Shooting Star, and Spanish Lace.
The pattern gives a recipe for achieving the length and width of scarf you want in your chosen yarn. The stitch pattern, borders, and ends are charted, and involve increases and decreases on every row (double-sided lace).
Materials: Approximately 550 yards of lace-weight yarn (held single), or 1,100 yards of finer yarn (held double). If you want to widen or lengthen the scarf, you will need more yardage.
I made my red scarf using 1,070 yards of cobweb-weight yarn in an alpaca-silk blend (held double), on 2.25mm needles. My white scarf used half a skein of Vintage Purls Lace (held single), on 3mm needles.
Pattern is for personal use only.
