Product Details

This nautical-inspired cardigan has side shaping and bust darts to give a sleek silhouette, and features lace trim and beading to emphasise the "port holes" on the sleeves. The front edges and neckline are finished with an enclosed trim to give a neat look if the cardigan is to be worn unbuttoned. The main fabric of the cardigan is worked in stocking stitch and twisted ribbing.

The cardigan itself is in stocking stitch and twist rib and so does not require any particularly demanding techniques other than short row shaping and or course, beading, but the enclosed binding is a little awkward to master. It might be worth a quick practice along the edge of a swatch before embarking on the cardigan itself. If you prefer less “froth” at the neckline, pick up fewer sts from neckline edges, no fewer than 2 sts every 3 rows, but make sure the same number are picked up for the Right and Left Fronts.
