Product Details
Apsara meaning female spirit of clouds and waters (in Hindu) was created especially for gorgeous hand dyed yarns by Liloucolours.
Apsaras are beautiful, supernatural female beings. They are youthful and elegant, and superb in the art of dancing. Apsara shawl was inspired by the images of these “celestial nymphs” carved into the walls of Angkor Wat temple.
Apsara is knitted top down in one piece. The body is shaped using short row technique and is worked in two sections of different colours. Both sections are divided by bands of eyelets and stripes. The use of different stitching for each section makes it interesting visually as well as fun to knit.
Beautiful wavy lace border is knitted at the end and the piece is finished off with crocheted tiny loops to keep the edge loose and easy to block.
The pattern has written and charted instructions.
The sample was made with Liloucolours Seasilk. A substitute yarn is shown below.
