Product Details

My pattern for the knitted version of the beautiful eastern grey kangaroo and it's baby, which live all around here.
Call her Skippy, if you like!
Yes, I grew up watching that show...

Knitted flat using DK or Light Worsted wool and 3mm or US Size 3 knitting needles.

The finished mother will be about 46 cm or 18 inches high and the Joey 15 cm or 6 inches high.
Both mother and baby are easy to knit, but mother takes a little while to complete. Well worth it though!
The baby is a quick project.

Did you know:
A male kangaroo is called a boomer
A female kangaroo is called a flyer
A baby kangaroo is called a joey

The word kangaroo derives from the Guugu Yimithirr word gangurru, referring to grey kangaroos. The eastern grey kangaroo is a marsupial found in southern and eastern Australia, with a population of several million. It is also known as the great grey kangaroo and the Forester kangaroo.
Eastern grey kangaroos have a woolly fur which is silvery-grey to dusky
