Product Details
Arguably the largest fibre event we have here in Australia is the Sheep and Wool Show, held each year in the city of Bendigo. I was so excited to attend for the first time in 2017, and it was as wonderful as I imagined it would be! For the trip interstate, I wanted a relatively quick project, something that was easy but engaging, and would keep me warm during the chilly nights. The Bendigo Shawl was born as a result, and I couldn't help but later make a hat with the same characteristics to go with it! The only skills you’ll need for the yummy fabric texture are knitting and purling, and it looks great in yarn from the Bendigo Woollen Mill, or whatever’s local to you!
The sample was made with Bendigo Woollen Mills Savannah. A suggested substitute yarn is shown below.
Please note that pom poms may present a choking hazard for children aged 3 years and under. If you make the hat with pom poms, you may need to include a choking hazard warning label to that effect on the finished product.
