Product Details
The “Blooming Mandala” hat is a colorwork beanie-style hat knitted from the top down in the round. The ribbing section is worked in 1 by 2 rib and folded to the outside. This results in a double layer of fabric to protect your ears from the cold.
The knitting process starts in the center of the flower and the stitches are increased as part of the Blooming Mandala colorwork motif. A crochet hook is used to cast on in a small circle with unspun yarn. This technique is explained through a photo tutorial in the pattern.
The pattern also provides a reverse colorwork chart in addition to the original chart.
Gauge: blocked and dried: 16 sts x 25 rows (15 sts x 23 rows) = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4 inches in colorwork
IMPORTANT: Both sizes of this pattern use the exact same stitch count. The different size of the hat is achieved by using different needle sizes.
