This  A line smock top with raglan sleeves is a great design for free hand embroidery. I have used Appletons Fine Embroidery Wool as it has beautiful natural colours and is lovely to work with. Use a washable embroidery pen to sketch the basic design of your embroidery and work from the middle flower out. No two designs will be exactly the same and you will end up with your own very unique piece. Choose your colours to suit your own baby or the baby you are making it for. I used these shades as they went well with this lovely dove grey. Take your time with the embroidery especially if you have not embroidered on knitting before. You cannot really use a hoop. Just don’t pull anything very tight. Use the photography as a guide but don't feel you have to make a complete replica. Even just a few simple flowers looks very sweet and will be greatly appreciated by a new Mother. Some knitters find it easier to embroider the front prior to sewing up the garment. A lovely comfortable stylish top
