Product Details
Botany Bay is an exploration in de-construction. From a classical triangular beginning, this shawl morphs into an unusual shape that sits surprisingly well on the body. The flattening out of one wing makes for less volume when flung around the neck, minimising that excess fabric you’re never quite sure what to do with. The rhythmic knitting of stripes and simple eyelets is interspersed with a repetitive lace to create interest and movement.
Worked in linen, this is a whisper-light shawl designed to drape rather than wrap, to shade rather than snuggle; making it the perfect weight for the warmer weather or climate.
Construction: This is a deconstructed triangle-shaped shawl. It begins with a Magic Garter Tab and traditional triangle-shawl shaping. Then one of the increases is removed to create an asymmetrical shape.
Lace is both charted and written.
