My one-year anniversary as a designer is a time of gratitude and reflection for me. For about 6 months, I have been playing with elongated caliper cables, putting them on a shawl, cowl, hat, and now fingerless mitts.
We make plans for our lives and set goals to get us there. However, as they say, life is what happens while you’re out making plans. It can cause us to fall apart in unexpected ways. But there’s grace and beauty to be found as we’re picking up the broken pieces. Broken Reflection rearranges the pieces of a cable that was once whole. As I was designing the mitts, it occurred to me that I was also working out recent life changes. Arranging and rearranging the bits, with love, patience, and acceptance, I’m moving towards the next season of my life with a well-seasoned heart and spirit.
