Gauge is not critical. Your rows gradually get longer as you go, so you can finish at whatever size suits. You can make it larger into a full-size triangular shawl or follow the directions and yardage given to make an asymmetic triangular scarf.
Stitches used: ch, sc, dc, dc2tog.
This is an ideal pattern for beginners with a very easy 2-row repeated pattern and a simple looped edging.
