Product Details
This is a 12 stitch repeat pattern. Overlay mosaic.
I initially designed it as a placemat but it can very easily be made into a table runner or even a cushion cover. I designed it for my lovely ladies in my crochet class, who had never heard of mosaic before.
I have written the pattern as a tutorial, with photos. If you can already crochet but have never tried mosaic crochet, then this is for you. However, those more experienced have also enjoyed this pattern.
There is a written pattern as well as a graph/chart. For newbies, its easier to follow the written pattern but once its clicked, most find the graph easier to follow.
I used a South African yarn called Moya DK. It is 100% cotton. 135m/50g. I used just over 50g in each colour for a placemat. I recommend slightly more yarn to allow for different tensions.
Credit to Louise Stotter, my crochet student, for the picture of the cushion cover she made, using the Nandi design that is still to be published.
