Product Details

The majesty and rhythm of Utah’s canyon country inspired this shawl. Strong horizontal lines and arches, all on a mammoth scale are reflected in this design.

The basic stitch pattern in this shawl is easy. In the 16 row repeat, nine rows are all knit or all purl, four rows are seed stitch and only three rows are a bit more complex. It takes a lot of words to explain, but the knitting is easy.

Seed beads adorn this shawl. The beads are placed with a small crochet hook; no bead stringing is required. Of course you can choose not to include the beads.

Another of my shawls, the Canyon Rim Shawl, uses the same stitch patterns and has more complex shaping similar to shawls from the Faroese Islands.

The shawl in the pictures was made with Malabrigo Sock. It would also be beautiful in Madeline Tosh Merino Light or Dream in Color Smooshy.
