Product Details

***Cara = Irish word meaning friend***This shawl is worked side to side to form an asymmetrical triangle, with alternating stripes of garter and lace or rib stitches to keep the knitters interest.

The design has been written to use one 400 metre skein. I used a very precious skein that my sister gave me for Christmas a number of years ago. It is a mix of Alpaca, Silk and Cashmere, so I knew it needed to be knit into something significant. I have called this shawl “Cara,” the Irish word for friend, because my sister is my best friend!

You could knit this shawl as I did from stash or a souvenir skein from a special place you’ve visited. As it only uses one skein, it is also a great gift knit.

The pattern has full written instruction.
