Carlingford - aran cushion cover

This charming and cosy Aran cushion will look equally at home in a country estate or modern city dwelling. The 32 rows of the pattern are written out in full and since there is no shaping required, this is a great project for someone new to cable knitting.

Width of knitted piece: 50cm [19¾ ins]. Length of knitted piece: 100cm [39½ ins]. Size of finished cushion: 55 x 55cm [21¾ x 21¾ ins].

Yarn required: 10 balls Cleckheaton Country 8ply, 50g balls@96m.

Needles required: A pair of 4.00mm [UK 8, US 6] knitting needles. Wool needle for sewing up.

Also required: Cable needle; 55cm [21¾ ins] cushion insert; 45cm [17¾ ins] zip (optional).

Tension: 22 sts and 30 rows to 10cm [4 ins] over stocking st, using 4.00mm needles.
