Product Details

Like fairly mindless knitting for big impact? The Carrick Bend Shawl lets you accessorize your accessory with a little Celtic flair. Starting with a small garter-stitch tab and growing with increases on the edges, the main body of the shawl grows into a classic crescent shape with just enough garter to keep you interested and emphasize your progress. It’s the perfect pattern to show off a crazy dye job, complimented with a pop-color picot bind-off. But the real star of the show is the shawl's closure, formed by tying a 4-stitch I-cord into a classic Carrick Bend mat Celtic knot. The knot is sewn onto one end of the shawl and has a hidden button on the back to fasten the shawl closed. Go for shawlette, shawl, or shlankette, as this pattern is easily adaptable to just about any yardage!
