The Celeste Vest is a really versatile vest that makes the ideal breezy Summer tank or Autumn staple layering piece. With delicate embroidery detailing scattered around the hem and shoulders and a traditional scoop neck, this make is the ideal wardrobe staple..
The vest is worked in the round for the most part, and is only seamed at the shoulders. It’s a quick and simple make, designed to be made in a cotton/viscose mix for the best drape possible. It’s a hip-length vest, ideal for layering but if you prefer a shorter fit, just remove rows before the upper body shaping.
Bust sizes given as XS (S, M, L, XL, 2X, 3X, 4X, 5X): 80 (88, 99, 109, 120, 130, 139, 149, 160) cm requiring 612 (667, 752, 845, 904, 974, 1014, 1080, 1150) metres of DK-weight cotton yarn (any plant fibre will achieve a similar drape).
This pattern is available in both UK & US terminology so you don’t have to translate stitches! (UK: pp. 1-6, US: pp. 7-12.)
