Product Details
Checkmate is another of our Afghan Games. Use it as an afghan or put it on the floor and play the game. You don't have to make it in these vivid colours!
The afghan shown in the photos was knitted on a knitting machine with a garter carriage but you can also make it by hand.
The playing pieces can be tucked away in their own bag which makes a small pillow and stops the pieces from getting lost.
You can buy the patterns individually or in or in Afghan Games, which contains 6 patterns.
The other games are:
Snakes & Ladders
Backgammon
Noughts & Crosses
Granny's Ludo
Granny's Draughtboard
One colour is used at a time and the long strips are joined by sewing so don't buy this if you don't like sewing.
Designed by mathekniticians Pat Ashforth and Steve Plummer.
