Product Details
This rectangular scarf has wide, beaded borders with a sunburst design and a central panel worked with wing motifs. The scarf is cast on and worked through the first border, which is placed on hold,
then is cast on for second border, knitting the body, and finally grafting the first border onto the main scarf.
The Chrysler Building is one of the finest examples of Art Deco architecture. With a commanding view of Manhattan’s skyline, it reaches to 1046 feet and is the second-tallest building in NYC. The crown of the building has seven concentric arches, each with a sunburst pattern, created with triangular windows, and covered with stainless steel which reflects the sunlight. Each corner of the 31st
floors has a winged motif, which are replicas of the 1929 Chrysler radiator caps on that year’s automobile design. These two architectural details are captured in the design for this scarf.
