This fingering-weight triangular shawl is worked from the top down in a pretty lace pattern repeated throughout. A gradient yarn kit with four colours creates the lovely colour effect shown here. Any amount of yarn may be used; be sure to finish at the end of a 12 row repeat. Try this pattern with a gradient kit, gradient skein, separate colours, or a single colour. The possibilities are endless! The lace pattern is easy to master. All wrong side rows are purled. This shawl is easy to wear with curved wings that wrap around your shoulders. Amount of yarn required per colour: approx 110 yd (100 m) of MC; approx 154 yd (141 m) of CC1; approx 150 yd (137 m) of CC2; approx 96 yd (88 m) of CC3. Total: 510 yd (466 m).Shawl is worked flat, but a circular needle is used to accommodate the large number of stitches. Skills required: knitting lace, blocking lace. Stitches used: k, p, k2tog, SKP, yo, M1 (backward loop cast-on), M1L, M1R.
