Product Details

Two quick to knit, stylish cushions to update your home decor. Each of them would make also a perfect housewarming gift. This cushion covers were inspired by traditional Greek woven pieces which are museum exhibits. Each cushion is worked in one piece with a ribbed button-band, and then seamed. These cushions are a fantastic way to use up odds and ends or to de-stash.

Cushion 1: This cushion cover was inspired by a traditional Greek woven piece from the region of Thrace, which was used to decorate a bridal cart. It is worked in a combination of stranded colour-work and the intarsia method. The diamonds and the red crosses are knitted with the intarsia method.

Cushion 2: The cushion was inspired by an old traditional woven apron from the area of Pogoni, located in north-east Greece, reach in tradition and history. The stripes are worked with rows of slipped stitches, to give a woven effect to the fabric and the color-work is worked using the intarsia method.
