Cordwood is a great project for those last-minute holiday gifts.
Working at a looser gauge than typical for a worsted weight yarn makes for a very quick knit, as well as a soft hand and lightness to the finished piece.
Based off of my Kindling Shawl in Brooklyn Tweed's Wool People 5 Collection, this scarf is simple to knit and versatile to wear. Long enough to double up around the neck for warmth, the circumference may be easily sized up or down by changing the cast-on count by multiples of 8 (yardage requirements will need to be adjusted accordingly).
This pattern is perfect for beginning knitters new to working from charts, or knitting projects in the round. Written instructions are also provided.
