Product Details
Crazy Quilts are fun because they use a lot of colors and reflect the personality and color choices of the crafter. That’s the idea behind these mitts. Choose the order of colors you want to use as you knit the mitts from the bottom up. The use of a little slip stitch when you change colors in the body of the mitt gives it that extra crazy quilt feature you see when sewers use a blanket stitch on the quilt pieces. The ruffle at the wrist adds extra pizzazz.
The mitts look best with four or five different colors. You will need about 200 yards total for the mitts. That works out to 45 - 50 yards of each of four colors; less of each color if you use more different hues.
The mitts in the picture are made from yarns from Jorstad Creek Yarns. We also recommend Malabrigo Rios and Cascade Aran. Or use scraps of worsted weight and aran weight yarn from your stash!
The two mitts are knit the same way and are interchangeable.
