Product Details

My Crow Steps design is inspired by a distinctive architectural feature found in the city of Ghent, Belgium. Ghent has many beautiful buildings with “crow stepped gables”, a stair-step feature surrounding a triangular gable. Dating back to the 12th Century, the crow steps provided convenient roof access, particularly for roofers and Chimney Sweeps. In my side-on photo of the crow-steps, shown above, each step is clearly visible along with other features such as tiles and bricks. These features inspired the bold textured cable panel, with long lines of cables bordered by a twisted stitch and textured check pattern. The sides of the garment are also knitted in the textured check. The neck band and grown-on sleeves are knitted in rib.
