Anyone who has walked along a shady garden path on a sunny summer day, has seen the lovely patterns that the sunlight peeking though the canopy of trees makes on the leaves of the plants below. The same delightful effect is created when Dappled Hosta is knit with the Botanical Garden colorway of Dragonfly Fibers Dance Rustic Silk that was used to design this shawl.
Dappled Hosta is an asymmetrical, triangular shawl that begins at one narrow point and increases to a lush border of leaves, before ending with a picot bind-off. It may be worked in any weight yarn, but keep in mind that the heavier the yarn, the more yarn you will need. The sample shawl used approximately 850 yards of Dragon Fly Fibers Dance Rustic Silk. Be sure to allow extra. Amount of yarn needed will vary with slight differences in personal gauge, yarn weight, fiber, and brand (even within same yarn weight category).
