Product Details

Something for the boys but of course, equally suitable for the girls. This square scarf is very easy to knit; the edging is a simple faggot and the main section stst, the lace ladders being created by dropping sts and unravelling them all the way down to the foundation row. Be careful if substituting yarn as anything more “hairy” than the recommended yarn will cause real problems when trying to unravel the sts. As with many kettle dyed yarns, each skein of Manos del Uruguay Lace is unique and is likely to have a slight shade variation from skein to skein which is used to great effect here by switching between the four balls of yarn every five rows. Desert scarves are wonderful accessories and you will probably want to have a whole stash to choose from. For a variation, use several different shades to work stripes as subtle or eye catching as you choose.

Manos del Uruguay Lace (4 x 50g used) is discontinued but Malabrigo Silkpaca seems a good alternative but check a swatch first.
