Product Details
Unlike most knit scarves, this scarf is knit lengthwise using extra-long circular needles. It begins with casting on 388 stitches (using the sample yarn) with the long-tail cast-on method. This can be a bit tricky, so see my “Notes” section for hints on how to come up with the correct length of your cast-on tail.
The main body of the scarf is created using a very simple two-color mosaic stitch pattern. The edging is just a simple garter stitch. You begin by doing the first garter stitch border, then work the mosaic portion, then the final lengthwise garter stitch border. Stitches are picked up at each end to complete the border. Fringe can be added if desired.
