Product Details
This is the fifth design in my Dip-Dyed series - a cosmetic bag, or crochet hook pouch! This bag is worked using a simple single crochet stitch worked into the back loop to create this fun, ribbed pattern. I don't often carry around a purse, and am not really a make up person, but I do enjoy using my bag for crochet hooks, pencil and scissors.
Materials You'll Need: 95 Yards of Worsted Weight Cotton Yarn (I used Lily Sugar n Cream in Ecru and Rose Pink), an H8/5mm Crochet Hook, Tapestry Needle and a stitch marker and pair of jewelry pliers will be helpful.
Yarn Alternatives: Bernat's Handicrafter, Paintbox Cotton, Rico Creative Cotton
I recommend cotton yarn because it’s more durable, and this bag will most likely see a lot of use, and being pulled and pushed around in a larger bag/purse.
Time: Just over an Hour.
Gauge: 15 SC in the BLO = 4"
Abbreviations to Know: SC, BLO, HDC

- Notes
- Weaving in ends of a tough yarn, like cotton yarn, can be hard on the fingers. Sore thumbs & frustration can be avoided with the aid of jewelry pliers
